There are four 5-minute updated newscasts scheduled at the :00 & :30 within this 2-hour show. In between these newscasts are segments featuring different topics which are of interests to our local Chinese communities. The hosts will review the latest local NZ news for the audience in first half-hour. After the eight o’clock newscast is the news for Greater China Region. The climax of the show starts at 08:35 until the end. This is a call-in segment which audience can phone in and express their personal view on certain issues. This segment becomes part of the daily life for our audience in the past 4 years.   It becomes a habit for most of the Chinese to turn on the radio and listen to AM936 at three o’clock afternoon every weekday. There is only one reason for that – “Get to know the latest news updates in NZ” In addition to the latest news updates are the reviews by experienced news commentator and in-depth news stories on selected current issues. “News Talk for Today” becomes one of the most favourite news programmes among Chinese in Auckland. Besides, call-ins from audience and call-out interviews with concerned parties will also be conducted at anytime during the programme.
